Got BBQ for pre-interview dinner. Crazy high DR and IR volume gives tons of exposure, lots of procedural experience as DR resident. Private practices in neighboring states are trying to take grads without fellowship. Night shifts done as 8 hour chunks. Faculty are very cool and friendly, some of the best conversations had on the trail so far. Everyone raved about the PD and the support she gives the program, sounded like a great ally that makes every decision based on how it would impact her residents.
Residents seem close but don't seem to hang out much outside of work or work functions. Partially seemed to be because most that were around had families and children. Very up front about how hard they work while at work due to volume, but nobody seemed to think teaching was impacted.
